Life doesn’t have to be this way.
I know what life probably looks like (cause I've lived it, and I see it ALL THE TIME!).
Your days are a whirlwind. The stress is constant. There's a LOT being asked of you. You think "this adulting thing is brutal." And yettttttt... aren't you supposed to be happy? You have a "good" job, a decent salary and you're "making it work."
So, after another busy day you fall into bed. Mind spinning. Body buzzing (but also exhausted!). Wondering if everyone else feels this way, too.
Only to wake up at 3 am with to-do lists running throug your head.
What the heck happened? This isn't the "successful" life you thought you were going for. How did you get here?
Sure, maybe you've gotten promotions. A house. Vacations.
On paper, you’ve “got it all.” So, isn’t it time you felt like it?

You’ve never successfully broken habits before
Nope, no habit you currently have "is just who you are." It's time you learned how to change the well-worn patterns of your brain (like "ooh! I just finished the dishes, I now reach for the cookies, even if I don't really WANT them!") on a NEUROLOGICAL level You're going to be SHOCKED (like I was!) at how QUICKLY you can change ANY habit (think you have one you can't break? You’re conditioned to think settling for a life where you “grin and BEAR it” is normal.
If there was a chance you could love all the hours of your week, not just the ones spent outside of your 9-5, wouldn’t you go for it?
Thinking of life as “a grind” is just how you’ve been taught to see it. There are plenty of people out there loving the shit out of their random Tuesday mornings. There’s no reason you can’t be one of them.
It's never the right time.
There will never be a “right” time when the skies part and all your other obligations disappear. So, what’s it costing you to wait?
Just like you, I followed the rules:
✦ Went to a New England boarding school followed by a small liberal arts college.
✦ Got a safe job in fundraising because the skills were transferable and the money was decent.
✦ Climbed the ranks and got promoted 9 out of 10 years in a row.
✦ Made a stable salary.
✦ Bought a house in a suburb outside Boston.
Society told me I was successful because I checked all the boxes. But I felt pretty damn numb inside.
Was this it? Really? A "safe" bank balance. A "smart" affordable house in the suburbs. And bored out of my fucking mind.
Where was the joy?
From what everyone else was telling me, I was doing everything I was supposed to. But the hefty amount of angst only got bigger, and my gut feeling that this just wasn't RIGHT only got stronger.
